It has been forever since we have posted anything, and yet so much has happened. December & January brought on not only the holidays, but many appointments with social workers to try to get our home open. We traveled to see family both months, and came back to finally hear our home was open to accept placements.
The truth is we are really just living life day to day. For now I will just communicate our life lately with pictures.
I realized that when we visited my family for Russian Orthodox Christmas I took zero pictures except for the next 2. I guess food and ballet were a priority. I promise we did visit family & friends.
The middle of January our whole world changed when we got the call for a placement. Within the span of 24 hours our lives did a 180. We never expected it to be this hard, but it has truly been the best decision we ever made. I never cooked before, now I cook. We wake up early to do school drop off. I have a huge fear of stickers and they are now a part of my everyday life. Dustin despises glitter and she loves EVERYTHING sparkly. Kona also is loving every minute of having a playmate.
The park, art, scrapbooking, homework, doing hair, and appointments are our new adventure for now.
We visited Dustin’s family recently and had an amazing time. We visited a farm (where I personally stayed safely behind a fence while everyone else got up close and personal with the animals), spent time with Mammaw & Pappaw, Dustin and his family led worship at church (Video here), and overall spent time with amazing people.
Though there is not much to tell, there seems to be so much that has happened. We are still figuring out the future, but know that no matter what it holds, it will be awesome!
